Xilef Reading Activity Sheets

These are activity sheets I made for my cousin when I tutored him using the children’s book Xilef. We were practicing his reading skills because he was identified as a slow reader by his teacher. Feel free to use this for your child’s learning.

This is Xilef and I talk about it a little bit in this post.

Xilef is a story by Augie Rivera illustrated by Beth Parrocha-Doctolero. It won the Don Carlos Palanca Memorial Awards for Literature in 1999

Companion Questions to What do you know about aliens?

Are they like us or are they different from us?
How can you tell if someone is an alien?

I have a book about a boy who may or may not be an alien. His name is Xilef. Look, this is him (pointing to the cover). Tell me what you can see. What’s going on in this picture?
